1. Aim&Scope
Journal of Food Science and Biotechnology is a peer-reviewed journal that committed to providing a communication platform for recent developments in the interdisciplinary field of food and biotechnology-related research. The journal accepts both fundamental and applied research with particular attention to 4 fields:
♦ Food science and engineering
♦ Light industry biotechnology and fermentation engineering
♦ Food safety detection and control
♦ Food nutrition and health
Topics featured in the journal include but are not limited to:
• Biotechnology, biochemistry, nutrition and microbiology of food, involves physiological and biological properties of foods, new theories, new methods and new food field technology, bioactive constituents, nutritional, and microbiological aspects, etc.
• Food quality and food safety, involves food analysis, food sensory and flavor evaluation, mechanism of functional foods and ingredients, fresh-keeping and delivery of nutraceuticals and functional food additives
• Food immunology, foodomics, food enzymology, involves genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, nutrigenomics and chemogenomics of foods and their interactions with humans
• Food processing, packaging, postharvest physiology, involves novel technology, biomaterials for food-related systems such as food packaging, food storage and preservation, etc.
• Enhancing human or animal health and wellness with novel or supplemented foods, especially for chronic diseases; evaluating nutritional endpoints versus food composition
• Evaluation and management of risks including chemical, microbiological, and molecular biology issues
• Food structure and physical properties of raw materials and processed foods, as well as insights into process engineering; biomass and bioenergy
The following topics will not be considered for publication in in the journal:
♦ Non-medicinal and food homologous Chinese medicine, cooking techniques, tobacco,pure medicine, pharmacy, and mathematical derivation
♦ Functional and animal experiments performed on complex extracts (substances) without specific functional components
♦ Related patent pending, reluctant to open compositions of experimental materials
♦ Survey report, market analysis, consumer behavior analysis
♦ Content of education reform
2. Review Cycle
Please consult our submitting template firstly, which can be downloaded in the website. Authors can log in our editorial system (http://spyswjs.cnjournals.com/spyswjsen/author/login) to submit manuscripts, view acceptation and modification suggestions. We adopt expert and author double-blind peer review process. Authors will immediately receive confirmation of receipt of the paper. The whole review process is usually about 3 months. Welcome to contact the editorial office(xbbjb@jiangnan.edu.cn)if you don’t receive any feedback over a month. Discretion is permitted after three months overdue.
3. Manuscript Requirements
Original research and review are both acceptable. The manuscript shall ensure that there are no political, no plagiarism, no leakage problems. The views are innovative, clear.The language is logical. The data is true, reliable and accurate. Inadequately or incorrectly prepared typescripts may be rejected. Each research/review (from introduction to conclusion, not including references) is usually about 8000/10000 words. Any manuscript submitted that, in the opinion of the Editor, is too long will be returned to the corresponding author for redrafting within a suggested maximum wordage. Must have Chinese and English title, authors and unit, summary about 300~500 words in both English and Chinese, 3 ~ 8 Chinese and English keywords.
4. References
The format of the references refers to GB/T 7714-2015 "reference information and literature cataloguing rules". Research papers should have about 15~40 references, review papers should have no less than 30 references. References from the last five years should account for half of the total. Bilingual control is required for Chinese references.
5. Copyright
Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete an ' Copyright License Agreement'.
6. Digital Archive
Journal of Food Science and Biotechnology is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research and to ensure accessibility by converting and upgrading digital file formats to comply with new technology standards. We work in partnership with organizations (CNKI,Chinese Science Citation Database,Wanfang Data, Weipu Chinese Periodical Service Platform)as well as maintaining our own digital archive. Authors and readers can permanently access the full text free of charge on our website.
