Duties of Authors
1. The manuscript should be original and cannot be multiple submission. Fraudulent, plagiarism or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
2. Authors should provide accurate and authentic underlying data in the manuscript. If necessary, initial data should be provided. A submission should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work.
3. Submissions should allow for peer review in accordance with the requirements of the Journal of Food Science and Biotechnology.
4. Authors should allow the sharing of papers and research data in regular databases or original published sources, and should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable number of years after publication.
5. Authors should ensure that the work they write is entirely original. The work and/or words of other sources should be appropriately cited or quoted as well as obtain permission. If the work is supported by the Fund, its full name is required. Authors are responsible for providing published literature that overlaps or is closed to submissions.
6. All signature authors should do substantial contributions to the research. All copyright owners should agree to sign copyright transfer agreement:
According to the Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China, all copyright owners (including all authors and their affiliations) should agree the paper can be published in Journal of Food Science and Biotechnology, and transfer all rights, including copyright, publishing right, network transmission right, translation right and compilation right, to the editorial office of Journal of Food Science and Biotechnology.The editorial office pays full remuneration to authors after publishing. The copyright of papers in other languages should be authorized only to Journal of Food Science and Biotechnology. The content of the paper does not infringe the copyright or any other rights of others, and does not involve State secrets, otherwise all responsibilities shall be borne by the author. Authors should not allow the paper/ partial article content published in any other media when it has been published in Journal of Food Science and Biotechnology.
7. All work should be ensured that in accordance with The Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association (Declaration of Helsinki) for experiments involving humans and animals.Authors should submit correlated numbers and approval of all relevant Ethics Committee and authorization (e.g. institute and/or government) when the submission containing involves animal and human subjects.
8. Authors can declare to avoid or recommend reviewers in the manuscript submitting stage.
9. Authors should notify the editorial office or publisher promptly when a significant error in their submissions is identified.
Duties of Editors
1. Editors shall ensure that the peer-review process is objective, fair, unbiased, and timely. Each article must typically be reviewed by at least two external and independent reviewers, and where necessary the editor should seek additional opinions.
2. Editors shall screen appropriate reviewers who have expertise and are familiar with the relevant fields. Editors shall follow best practice to avoid selecting fraudulent peer reviewers. Editors shall review all disclosures of potential conflicts of interest and suggestions for self-citation made by reviewers in order to determine whether there is any potential for bias.
3. Editors shall present true, clear and complete peer-reviewed recommendations or rejection comments to authors. Editors have the independent right to accept or reject submissions, but cannot rely on personal opinion. Editors should not change the original decision to a manuscript unless a serious problem is found.
4. Editors shall strictly obey the journal's review process and specifications, and use the journal's standard electronic submission system for all journal work.
5. Editors cannot attempt to influence the journal’s ranking by artificially increasing any journal metric. In particular, editors shall not require that references to that (or any other) journal’s articles be included except for genuine scholarly reasons.
6. Editors must protect the confidentiality of all material submitted to the journal, personal information of authors and reviewers, and all correspondence with reviewers, unless otherwise agreed with the relevant authors and reviewers.
7. Editors cannot use unpublished materials disclosed in the submission for editorial and other people to research without the author's express written consent. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and must not be used for personal interest.
8. Editors should eliminate academic misconduct academic misconduct through CNKI sci-tech periodical academic misconduct checking system. Fraud, plagiarism and multiple submissions are strictly prohibited. Manuscripts with controversial attribution or quotations from other people's works without attribution are refused.
9. Emphasize the academic integrity of editors and authors, and encourage truthful reporting of violations of academic ethics. Once receive convincing evidence of academic misconduct should arrange the prompt correction, retraction, or other relevant correction to the record.
10. Editors shall respond promptly to any complaints if the author disagrees with certain reviews or editing comments.
Duties of Reviewers
1. When it is realized that the submission cannot be reviewed in time or is not qualified for review, a notice and rejection receipt need to be issued to editors.
2. Avoiding any potential conflict of interest (financial, institutional, or other relationships that may lead to bias or conflict of interest) promptly. Making sure editors are warned timely and the manuscripts are not retained or copied.
3. Assisting editors to improve the quality of the paper with detailed and objective comments.
Duties of Sponsor or Publishers
1. Journal of Food Science and Biotechnology is sponsored and published by Jiangnan University. The requirements of Jiangnan University for the journal are obeying the academic publishing ethical standards, publishing high quality and fully reflect the latest scientific and technological research results in the field of food science and food biotechnology at home and abroad.
2. The publishing organization can not intervene in the decision-making power of editors.
